The majority of Barbadians are of Afro-Caribbean descent and the predominant religion is Christianity, while English is the official language. The physical characteristics of Barbados consist of its lowlands and gently sloping, terraced plains, separated by rolling hills that generally parallel the coast. The climate tends to be nice year-round- No wonder the island is a major tourist destination!
