Belarusian men take pride in their women and they usually are helpful and supportive to them. The men are kind but reserved, and are generally a hardworking lot. If you are tired of false American cheerfulness, you will be pleasantly surprised by how honest your Belarusian man will be. He will feel free to show you his true emotions, not just a superficial face of forced happiness. Chivalry is still alive in this culture, so most likely your Belarusian man will treat you gallantly. Do be prepared for a change, as he will always open a door for you or carry your heavy bag.
The Republic of Belarus is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe; it has two official languages: Belarusian and Russian. The Constitution does not declare an official religion, although the primary religion in the country is Eastern Orthodox Christianity followed by Roman Catholicism. Much of Belarus is hilly lowland with forests that cover one-third of the land, with swamps and numerous rivers and lakes being prominent across its vast expanse. This is contrasted by areas that are heavily industrialized and some larger cities, such as the capital, Minsk.
