Indian men are intelligent, decent and caring, loyal and tolerant and are usually not afraid to express emotions, in comparison to many Western men. Dating is a new concept for the Indian cultural scene as many marriages are still arranged by the parents in this hierarchical society. Family (usually extended) is the core value for them - it is said that if you’re in a relationship with an Indian man you’re likely to be in a relationship with his family too. They are reserved gentlemen, and can come across as quite shy. Their philosophy is to put the lives of kids and family first, but be aware that they come from a highly traditional culture and even in this rapidly modernizing country, women should take care of the home, even if employed elsewhere too.

India's climate is also varied but is mostly tropical in the south and mainly temperate in the north.
