Lebanese men come from a male-dominated society, but they value family very much and are respectful to all the members within the clan. It is always nice to be around them because they are educated (many usually speak at least three languages), jovial, hospitable, and honorable. The official language is Lebanese, but many still speak French with English also recently having become important for those looking to get ahead. The majority of the population is Muslim though Christianity is also an important religion once making up half the population (but now comprising slightly less due to demographic changes). The country is known for its unique stance in the Middle East of guaranteeing civil rights and freedom for all its citizens. Most of the land is characterized by mountains including a narrow coastal plain. Climate is Mediterranean with hot dry summers and wet winters.
