Many of the Martiniquais are educated and open-minded, as studying in France is common for young people here. They are in good physical shape and love sports. It seems that everyone on the island plays or closely follows one or more sports.
Martinique is an island in the Lesser Antilles in the eastern Caribbean Sea. It is an overseas region of France and is part of the European Union and its currency, the Euro. The official language is French and the majority of population is Roman Catholic. Land is mountainous with an indented coastline and the climate is tropical. The island enjoys a higher standard of living than most other Caribbean countries.
