About New Mexico
Being the fifth most extensive and ranked as 36th, in terms of population density, the state of New Mexico lies in the southwest area of the United States. Due to its rugged topography, it is known as the “Mountain State” of the west coast. New Mexico is home to a large number of Hispanics and immigrants from Latin America. As the name suggests, New Mexico adopted its name from the original state of Mexico and was named thus, due to the plethora of similarities shared by both the states. New Mexico is a colorful blend of mountains, plains and deserts, which is why it has an arid to semi-arid climate.
