Ukrainian men are hard-workers and very family oriented. They treat a woman like a lady, paying her lots of respect and giving her the honor of endless toasts, frequent gifts of flowers, etc. They always expect to pick up the check for the date and all doors are held open for the object of their courtship. But most of them also have a traditional view of women (that she should cook, clean, etc.). They value friendship and relationships in general - their friends tend to be close and they don't really focus on simple "acquaintances" or casual buddies like American men tend to do.
Ukraine is a country in Eastern Europe bordering the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. Ukrainian is the official language, but Russian is also widely spoken, especially in the restive eastern and southern parts of the country. Ukrainians make up about 80% of the population, with those of Russian ethnicity being the largest minority. The dominant religion in the country is Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Most of Ukraine consists of fertile plains (steppes), with the Carpathian Mountains adding some lovely variety. Winters vary from cool along the Black Sea to cold farther inland; summers are warm across the greater part of the country.
